The island of Aegina is situated in the centre of the Saronic Gulf. It takes for visitors only 70 minutes to reach the port of Agia Marina by boat and 35 minutes by hydrofoil to Aegina port. There is a frequent time-table from the port of Piraeus.
Aegina is known for its pistachios as pistachios trees are planted all over the island. Agia Marina is the most popular destination of the island since it combines the beauty of trees with the one of the sea.
The town has been named after the small chapel of Agia Marina. |
